Today, I have a swap card to share from my friend and fellow demonstrator, Kristen Hancock!
This is a super fun card that is nice and casual. There is just one main focal point: the guy in the kayak having a great time! However, there are many other details that make the card interesting and planned out.
First things first, it is quite evident that Kristen matched all the colours in the image with the words and borders to tie everything together and make it all feel intentional. The red of the kayak paddles, covering the smallest area, is used on the first three words. Meanwhile, the green of the kayak, covering a greater amount of space on the card, is used on only the last word to not unbalance the card. Finally, the blue that is used on the borders of the card is also used for the longest word featured on the card to complete the colour coordination and create a harmonious finished product.
I have already written multiple blog posts with the Adventurous Journey stamp set (after a recent class!), so it just shows how versatile and fun it can be when you make minor changes. Another point I would like to highlight is the way the words are placed in an organic and seemingly careless manner. This gives the card another layer of character whilst taking the pressure off of ensuring all the words are perfectly straight and lined up. This way, if things are a little messier, it looks like it was intentional and part of the casual look.
Below, all the supplies that Kristen used are listed in case you want to try and recreate this awesome card!
