A Jolly Deer

Lisa Henderson Christmas Foxy Friends Jolly paper Pool Party Smoky Slate Stamp & Create Team Stampin' Up! stamps Swap Cards Woodland

Hello Everyone!

Welcome back.  Today I thought I would share a card that my downline, Amanda Farlinger, did for a recent swap at one of our team meetings.  I haven't had a chance to photograph it yet, but I did a version of this for a recent class too.

One of the things that I really love about this card is that it uses a non-Christmas stampset.  I love when a stampset is versatile and can be used for many different occasions!

A couple quick tips for this one:

  • Fine tip glue is the only way to go for attaching "Jolly".  Seriously.  Every time we use this in a class, people end up buying it.  It's that good.  But a couple quick things about it: never squeeze the bottle--it's pretty runny and will run naturally out of the fine tip and you can just add dots of the glue to the back; immediately put the thin needle back into the jar so that the applicator doesn't get gummed up; when you pull the lid off, make sure the black applicator isn't attached (it's a tight fit and often comes off with the lid)
  • You can use less ribbon by not running it all around the panel.  Instead attach with Tear Tape!
  • Instead of keep the greeting calm, experiment a bit with other colours of cardstock.  I really loved the way Early Espresso looked too!
