The floating frame technique...

Hello Everyone!

Welcome!  Today I have a technique for you!  Now, having said that, I used the stitched rectangle dies.  I would not recommend using stitched dies.  Unfortunately, with the way the floating frame technique works, there are multiple layers being cut at once.  I lucked out, and my dies are fine.  But I had to run everything through the big shot 5 or 6 times, as they are simply too intricate, and I think if you were to make too many, or they slipped the wrong way you could easily damage your dies.  But I will admit that I am incredibly happy with how the card turned out.  And I love how I was able to use the inner cut out to make a second card that I also love!

So here is the first card:

First, stamp and heat emboss your sentiment in the centre.  Then, to make the floating frame, take a window sheet cut to 4 1/4 x 5 1/2 (it doesn't need to be perfect, you will use the die to cut it down).  Stamp and die cut as many flowers and leaves as you would like and adhere them to the window sheet (keep some full ones aside to pop off the frame when you are done).  Die cut the frame using two rectangle dies, one for the outer cut, one for the inner.   Adhere to your card base using dimensionals behind some of the attached flowers and leaves.  Add the full flowers and leaves where your heart desires.  Keep your centre cut out for the next card.

For this card, simply take your card base.  Stamp and emboss your sentiment.  Adhere the centre diecut from your last card using dimensionals behind the flowers and leaves again.  Add one full flower "falling off" the rectangle.  That's it!  And if you were wondering how I got those two toned leaves and flowers, I inked the stamp in the lighter colour, then used a sponge dauber to add a darker to the edges.
