Scrapbooking Global Blog Hop - Flowers or Spring

Lisa Henderson

Hello!

Thank you for joining me today!  I am taking part in the Scrapbooking Global Blog Hop today.  For today's hop, we are celebrating flowers or spring.  This week I have been featuring the Tropical Chic bundle on projects (make sure after the hop you stop back for more ideas using this bundle!).

For those just stopping by for the first time, my name is Lisa Henderson.  I am a Stampin' Up! demo in Inverary (near Kingston), Ontario, Canada.  I am a mom to a little boy named Bentley, and live the in country with Bentley, my partner Trevor, and our bullmastiff Magnus!  In addition to being a demonstrator, I teach college part time, own my own architectural firm, House of Three, am on multiple committees--mostly to do with my firm, usually have a course or two on the go, and have the most amazing team of Stampin' Up! demonstrators!  I live a very crazy life (and love it!)--and because of all that, you're about to see that I am a bit of a different scrapbooker.  I scrapbook not only to record stories and memories, but also for the stress relief.  And I scrapbook "backwards".  Meaning that I create layouts for the fun of it, and then a few times a year, I sit down and go thru my thousands of photos and finish my layouts off with photos and journaling to match my layouts.  This may seem a bit weird to most, but honestly, when my life started to get hectic, I quit scrapbooking.  And I missed it.  But struggled to stay "caught up".  I thought about what I loved, and for the most part, it's the creating!  So I changed it up and started scrapbooking "backwards", and now I get layouts done.  All that to say--the others on the hop (who are always brilliant), probably showed you completed layouts--layouts with photos and journaling.  Unfortunately, that's not what I have to show.  BUT I do have a layout that I want to share, and I hope you will enjoy it!  So here it is:

That floating frame that's so popular right now on cards - I wanted to include that on my layout!

The white block on the left is for a 4x6 photo, and the one on the right is for my journaling.  I was going to add a flower to the journaling block, but decided to wait until I could see what was left for space.

I hope you enjoyed my layout!  Make sure you stop by and check out the other talented people on the hop:

Enjoy!

I love your “backwards” scrapbooking, I do it often, too. Nice technique and ready for photos when you are.

Loe your method – your Tropical Chic page looks great – love how you’ve incorporated the new floating frame technique

I just love what you did with the circle looks beautiful. I don’t think you scrapbook backwards (i have tuns of layouts without photos) and everyone I know is the same lol but maybe that’s a southern Ontario thing that we all do in this area ;) lol

Your layout makes me wanna go somewhere tropical! so inviting and beautiful.
