Hello Everyone!
Welcome back! I hope you've managed to get some therapeutic time in your craft room this week! This little sloth might just be perfect for "hump" day!
Isn't he sweet? Anyone else feeling this way though??? The weeks are definitely dragging on while COVID is still around. Hoping this all ends soon, but in the meantime, I will be grateful that we live in a time we have tools such as Zoom and Facebook to stay connected!
To create this card:
Start with a piece of 4 1/4" x 11" Mossy Meadow cardstock. Score at 5 1/2" to create a top fold card. Cut a piece of 4" x 5 1/4" Crumb Cake cardstock and emboss with the subtle embossing folder. Adhere to the card base.
Cut a piece of Shimmery White cardstock to approx. 3" x 2 1/2". Stamp the Sloth and the sentiment in Memento. Allow to dry fully. Using the watercolour pencils, blend to the desired effect. For instance, for his "body", I used Basic Grey and Early Espresso, heavier on the brown at the lines, then blended together using an aquapainter (you can use a blender pen too!). I did the same with Daffodil Delight and Early Espresso for his "bandaid" and straight Old Olive for the leaves, Early Espresso for the branch, and Basic Gray for his face. Allow to dry. Cut a 3 1/4" x 2 3/4" rectangle from Mossy Meadow. Adhere the stamped piece to the Mossy Meadow rectangle. Adhere to the card using dimensionals.
Cut a piece of the striped Designer Series Paper to 4" x 1". Add on the faceted gem.
I also like to adhere a piece of 4" x 5 1/4" Whisper White on the inside of coloured card bases to make writing easier (you can decorate this too!).
