Make It Monday - With Sympathy

Lisa Henderson card Cards demonstrator paper Petal Palette Rose Wonder Stamp & Create Stamp & Create with Lisa Stamp and Create with Lisa Stampin' Up! Stampin' Up! Canada stamps With Sympathy

Hello Everyone!
I hope you enjoyed the sunny weather this weekend!  We celebrated Trevor's birthday and got some work done around the house (and I may have finished some marking from the last 6 weeks!).
Today I have a card to share with you.  Sympathy cards are ones that we "hate" to send--or rather hate to have a need to send.  But, they are necessary, and I do like to have a few on hand.  And I love how this one turned out.

To make this card:

1.  Take a piece of Crumb Cake Cardstock and cut to 5 1/2" x 8 1/2".  Score at 4 1/4" and fold to create a card front that is 4 1/4" x 5 1/2".

2.  Cut a piece of the Fresh Fig cardstock to 4 1/4" x 3 1/4".  Cut a piece of the Thick White cardstock to 4" x 3".  Cut a piece of the Designer Series Paper to 5 1/2" x 2".  The piece of the Designer Series Paper can be adhered to the card base, centred from the edges.

3.  Stamp the Flowers from the Petal Palette Stampset in the corner using the Memento Ink.  Stamp the "With Sympathy" Sentiment also in Memento.  Using the blends, colour the flowers.  I find with the blends it is best to work in small areas at a time (like one flower, or one leaf), and colour the whole thing in the light colour, immediately add your dark accents, and then immediately (again), colour again with the light colour.  Adhere the stamped piece to the Fresh Fig cardstock.  Adhere to the card using dimensionals, centred from all sides.

4.  Inside the card, I like to also adhere a 4" x 5 1/4" piece of cardstock to write on.

That's it!  Thanks so much for joining me!  See you again tomorrow!
