Hello Everyone!
I hope you all had a fantastic weekend! We did two back to back birthday parties (because our toddler has a better social life then we do!) on Saturday, and then Sunday, Bentley and I didn't leave the house--because it was just to darn cold! Honestly, we normally have swimming lessons on Sundays, but with the forecast saying that frostbite happening in minutes, I did not think that damp skin and hair would be a great idea. Add to it that we are both just recovered from viruses, it seemed like a good idea to sit this week out!
This week I am going to be featuring the Birthday Statements stampset. When I first saw this stampset in the catalog, I actually didn't buy it. I loved the graphics, but, I kind of thought it might be a "one-card wonder" meaning there would only be one style of card I could do with it. Well, this week, I am going to prove myself wrong. In fact, I made 4 cards and a scrapbook layout in 3 hours (that is design and actual build time!), which for me is impressive!
Today I have a simple card to share with you. Although there is a bit of a technique, it is still super simple:
The colour of the foil is hard to get on film, as it changes colours depending on the light. But without other colours on the card, it almost has a rose gold colouring in real life--so pretty!
To make this card:
1. Take a piece of 5 1/2" x 8 1/2" thick white cardstock and score at 4 1/4" to create a 4 1/4" x 5 1/2" card base.
2. Cut a piece of the grapefruit grove foil to 4" x 5 1/4" and adhere to the card base.
3. Cut a piece of 3 3/4" x 5" vellum. Stamp the birthday image in Versamark and heat emboss using white embossing powder. To adhere to the foil, use fine tip glue behind the letters (yes the rest will be loose, but trust me, it will be ok!).
