Global Stamping Friends Blog Hop - Birthday Celebrations

Hello!

Welcome back!  I know I have been missing in action this week.  I do apologize, life's just a bit on the busy side at the moment.  It will settle down though and I will get back to blogging!!  

Today though I am back for the Global Stamping Friends Blog Hop!  Each month we have a different theme, and this month we are doing birthday celebrations!  I am always in need of birthday cards, so this is right up my ally!  

The new Stampin' Up! catalog rolled out this week, and we have some amazing new stamps to play with.  I only have a few (with more on their way), but I am quite taken with the new host set, New Wonders.  As it is a host set, it is only available if you host a party OR if you place an order of $200 (Canadian) or more!  And trust me, you want it.  

Amanda challenged us to do something different.  For me, that's keeping things simple.  Normally, as much as I do fairly simple cards, they tend to have some sort of technique.  It might be colouring with the blends, or watercolouring, or using embossing powder....you get the idea.  But I am about to launch some beginner classes at our local library, so I wanted to keep things simple.  So I coloured with the watercolour pencils--but just used them as regular old pencil crayons.

Is this fairy not the sweetest???  

The paper is from the new Bird Ballad suite, and it's got some bright, fun, summery colours (maybe summer will arrive--someday!!!).
