Swap Card Spotlight - Jackie Topa

Lisa Henderson

Happy Monday! I hope your week is going well.

Today, I have this beautiful swap card to share from a fellow demonstrator, Jackie Topa!

Sometimes, less is more and it definitely proves to be true with this card. By having only one main detail in this card, it brings more emphasis to that part of the card and creates a feeling of significance. Furthermore, this card has a level of drama and mystery to it, drawing the card receiver in wanting to investigate it more. The ink and blending brush duo creates a smoky effect that draws your eye down to the focal point of the card: the floral design centerpiece.

To create more detail and depth within the clean look of the card, Jackie used a combination of the Happiness Abounds stamp set and the Bough punch and layered the design. She cut out different floral pieces and stacked them on top of one another, with varying shades and colours to create visual interest. She even added a little piece of pink ribbon to add some different texture and make the card more intricate.

To ground the card and tie all the different colours together, Jackie used a grey cardstock to create a frame that matches the grey ink used with the blending brush and the saying in the top left corner. All the supplies and tools are listed below, so feel free to take inspiration from this card and recreate it with your own twists!
