Swap Card Spotlight - Elizabeth Green

Lisa Henderson

Welcome back to the blog,

Today, I have this cute swap card from my friend and fellow demonstrator, Elizabeth Green!

While this card may seem minimalistic at first glance, I believe the simplistic look of the card actually adds a lot of elegance and allows the existing patterns and textures to pop! The most evident aspect of coordination is the fact that Elizabeth coordinated all the blue features to be of the same shade, thus creating a very intentional and collected feel. Additionally, I really appreciate the fact that she used a whole bunch of round and soft features: rounded edges on the cardstock, soft fonts, and circular adhesive backed jewels.

To counter the curves and softness, she chose to use an embossing folder with a rougher pattern with sharper edges. This contrast creates an interesting effect on the card and allows for the card receiver to feel a sense of harmony and completeness.

Finally, to top the card off, one of the first things that I noticed about this card was the vellum cardstock centerpiece. This adds another layer of softness as well as a greater sense of depth and sophistication. The translucence of the paper almost creates a feeling of mystery and suspense for what the card will reveal.

All the tools and materials that Elizabeth used are listed below, and I would really encourage everybody to recreate this card; it is truly an extraordinary creation!
